The Gap Throwback: A Merchandising Strategy

During the summer after I graduated, I spent a lot of time conducting market research and devising different merchandising strategies for various brands. I found that Gap was in the perfect position for either a rebrand or collection launch that would help them further their popularity as a timeless, yet trendy brand. I decided to produce a merchandising strategy that is complete with marketing, assortment planning, financial projections, and more. I found that this was a great way to keep my creativity flowing and my merchandising skills sharp following graduation.

A month after producing this project, I visited a Gap location in NYC and was delighted to see that my strategy was spot on! I observed a similar color palette, the original Gap logo, baby tee silhouettes, and vintage influences, all of which I had included in my project. Check out the display below!
